Voyager 20.10 GE Released, bringing a lot of exciting features
Ubuntu 20.10 “Groovy Gorilla” was released last month. Following to this, other linux distributions built on top of Ubuntu also started announcing their updates built on Ubuntu 20.10. Ubuntu Groovy Gorilla-based distro, Voyager 20.10 GE is an example of this.
The update brings two edition for Voyager distro, namely Xfce (by default) and GNOME. However, it only offers Xfce desktop in the LTS version Voyager 20.04.
The non-LTS version 20.10 featuring GNOME shell is called GE edition. It is an intermediate version of nine month of package updates and security fixes. It aims to prepare 5-year LTS version.
The GE version has its official repositories that shares common base, software and same APT repositories with Ubutu. Therefore, it is possible to switch between Ubuntu Classic and vice-versa inside the Voyager dsitro.
Along with GNOME shell, Voyager provides GNOME extensions and scripts grouped in a box for better optimization.
Voyegar comes with apps placed in relevant category and therefore you will see the frequent tab with GNOME 3.38.
If you want it right now, you should have the following system requirements:
- 2GB of RAM,
- 25GB of free disk space,

If you have, download the Voyager GE 20.10 ISO image and then create the Voyager Linux Live USB by flashing images to a USB drive. After that, you have to follow the same installation procedures as Ubuntu.
